The product’s figures drawn as the product shows them — each use of a chart on its screen or card, in the palette, in both themes.
How a chart is drawn here
The product has one set of figures — the emissions of the container’s chain — and shows them in five places. Each section below is one of those places, drawn as the product shows it.
Colors
A figure wears its party’s hue — mine, refiner, carrier — stepped for a chart, checked for lightness, chroma, color-blind separation and contrast in both themes. A received figure is neutral; the customer’s total is ink. A missing figure is a hatch, never a color. Hue never stands alone: every mark has a direct label and a legend.
Axes and labels
tCO2e on the axis or in the title; bars from a zero baseline; ticks every 10. Figures as the parties reported them, one decimal; text in the text colors, never in the hue.
Tooltip
Hover a mark, or reach it with Tab: its party, transaction, figure and review status. Every chart has a table view under it.
Empty and in progress
No roll-up until each of the three steps has a transaction: the empty state of States, the steps without one named. While a response is being interpreted its party is named as missing and counts in no figure — the chart never waits with a spinner.
Motion
None: a chart stands finished. Only the tooltip fades in, and not at all under reduced motion.
Not drawn
No dashboards or category views; no allocation, yield or per-unit footprint computed — each supplier allocates its own emissions to the material in this container and says how; no sum the roll-up does not make.
Roll-up of the container
How the parties’ emissions add up to the customer’s Scope 3, by party and by category.
Who looks at it
Velmora’s sustainability lead — the presenter acting as the customer — once the chain is complete.
Where it stands
The Chain view, the card under the three steps, in place of the roll-up table’s first look; the table stays one click away.
The question it answers
How do the parties’ emissions add up to my Scope 3 for this container?
Roll-upAll three transactions exist · figures as reported, in tCO2e
38.2tCO2eVelmora Battery Works · Scope 3 for the container= Ferrovane Freight’s reported total · Category 1 35.7 + Category 4 2.5
Quillara Lithium STS-EX-0001Accepted
Brisemont Refining STS-PR-0001Accepted
Ferrovane Freight STS-SH-0001Accepted
All three accepted (moment complete). One bar of the parties’ own figures along the chain, then the categories on the same scale; Category 11 is not in this chain yet — downstream of the customer. The total is Ferrovane’s reported figure, marked where it stands.
Roll-upChain incomplete
No roll-up yetThe roll-up appears once each of the three steps has had a transaction.

Brisemont No transaction yet — the request not yet answered
Ferrovane No transaction yet — the request not yet answered
Chain incomplete (moment responding): no roll-up, and the steps without a transaction named.
What each party added and what it received from upstream, step by step.
Who looks at it
The customer, and an STS working-group member checking the arithmetic.
Where it stands
The Chain view, the second card, under the roll-up.
The question it answers
What did each party add, and what did it receive from upstream?
Along the chainEach step’s own figure on what it received · figures as reported, in tCO2e
Own figure — Scope 1–2, or the carrier’s transport of the container — in the party’s color
Embedded emissions received from upstream, as the party reported it
The customer’s Scope 3 — the carrier’s reported total
Each column is a step: what it received from upstream as it reported it, its own figure on top — Scope 1–2, or the transport of the container for the carrier — its reported total above. The mine has no upstream party. The last column is the customer’s Scope 3 — the carrier’s reported total.
Roll-upChain incomplete
No roll-up yetThe roll-up appears once each of the three steps has had a transaction.
QuillaraSTS-EX-0001Pending
Brisemont No transaction yet — the request not yet answered
Ferrovane No transaction yet — the request not yet answered
The chain incomplete: the same empty card as the roll-up — nothing travels until every step has a transaction.
What still counts while a supplier’s answer is read again; the missing step named.
Who looks at it
The customer, while a supplier’s replacement is being read.
Where it stands
If time allows, the answer to a clarification — the Chain view at Oct 25 14:58: Ferrovane’s replacement submitted, being interpreted.
The question it answers
What still counts while Ferrovane’s answer is read again?
Roll-upA transaction is being replaced · figures as reported, in tCO2e
Incomplete — Ferrovane being interpretedNo category sum and no customer total until its replacement is interpreted; the customer’s Scope 3 is Ferrovane Freight’s reported total.
Quillara Lithium STS-EX-0001Accepted
Brisemont Refining STS-PR-0001Pending
Ferrovane Freight STS-SH-0001Being interpreted
Ferrovane Freight is named as missing and counts in no figure until its replacement returns. While a response is being replaced no category is summed: each counted party’s contribution is shown as reported.
Ferrovane’s replacement is being interpreted: its segment leaves the bar and Category 4 names it as missing, hatched; Category 1 gives each party’s contribution with no sum. No customer total until it returns — the total is Ferrovane’s reported figure.
Roll-upThe carrier is in error
Incomplete — Ferrovane in errorA response in error is not counted: each counted party’s contribution, no category sum, no customer total.

The answer to “Show Category 1 emissions by supplier.”: one bar per supplier, each beside the transaction it cites. The AI draws no sum; the Category 1 total is the roll-up’s, cited as such.

Brisemont Refining has no transaction yet: the request not yet answered. No category sum — the chain is incomplete.
On an incomplete chain: the present supplier’s bar, the other named as having no transaction, no category sum.
